❌ Not ideal for single-coil guitars (like Stratocasters) — Slash’s tone comes from a powerful mix of humbuckers, amp settings, and playing style. If you're using single-coils, these presets won't get you all the way there — but to be fair, neither would the real amp.

Q: Did Slash make these presets?
A: No. Slash has NOT contributed to these presets but they were captured and sculpted using gear as close as possible to what Slash used.
Q: How many presets are included?
A: The pack contains over 10 ToneX preset captures including Tokyo live tone. For a full list of tones see the individual product page after clicking 'download now'.
Q: How do I access the presets?
A: Upon purchase, Kemper and ToneX users will be sent an automatic link to download the presets to your computer. Simple! Cortex users will be sent instruction on how to receive the files from the Cortex Cloud app. This may take a few days.
Q: Do I need to own an amp for these to work?
A: No! All you need is your pedal/unit, and you can use these presets. HOWEVER, you CAN plug your pedal into your amp or PA and use these as a gigging tone MONSTER! You can even plug headphones straight in to the unit.
Q: Can I use these presets with a guitar amp?
A: These units are best suited when either, plugging straight into the desk, using headphones, plugging into a recording interface, or use with a FRFR speaker. *These are speakers with a flat EQ which can emulate the exact sound that is coming from the ToneX. You can use a guitar amplifier but it's best to run through the fx loop and turn off the cab simulator.
Q: Will these work with a Stratocaster or single coil pickup type guitar?

WHO AM I?
I'm Sam Holland. Inspired by the likes of Slash, my music journey began at school, through to college and finally studying at the University of West London, where I immersed myself in the art under the mentorship of top industry professionals.
I am also lucky enough to have recorded albums and toured around the world with various bands and artists.
I became a music teacher at West Nottinghamshire College in 2014, teaching music theory and performance to passionate music students. I'm also a certified RGT (Registry of Guitar Tutors) teacher.
In addition to my teaching role, I've since delved into the realm of content creation on YouTube, honing my ability to teach and convey information in the best way so you're in the right hands when it comes to learning-styles.
